A Letter to Perspective Parents

To All Our Prospective Families:

Welcome to Indigo Christian Junior Academy. Our school has a long history of being part of the Daytona Beach community. As early as 1913 the Daytona Beach Seventh-day Adventist church was planning a school, but it wasn’t until 1931 that a school was opened. During the ensuing years the school was in several locations with different names, but in the 1980’s the school as you see it today was built and is currently called Indigo Christian Junior Academy.

We are looking for students and families that value a Christ centered school. Our mission statement can be summarized in the following short phrase: “Learning, Loving, and Living in Christ.” Our teachers not only teach a state approved curriculum, but they also bring important concepts of Christian living into their daily lesson plans. Love is taught along with other moral and mental health components. Students grow mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually as a result of attending ICJA.

We are looking to grow our school by 20 students. This means that we can open our school to even more children. We would like to set up an appointment with you to give you a tour of the school and answer your questions. You may also wish to a sample of the textbooks your child(ren) may use and view our handbook online at www.indigochristianjunioracademy.com.

We also accept Step Up and AAA Scholarships. If you are not familiar with these organizations, we are happy to help you with the application process. We can help guide you, but we cannot apply for you.

We are here to educate the entire young person, and we have such great teachers. I look forward to sharing with you more when we meet.

Sincerely,

Sandra Maddox
